Ethical jungle trekking in Sumatra— experience the rainforest without disturbing it

Tailor made, small-group treks in Bukit Lawang— wildlife-first, locally grounded, and intentionally slow.

Our Most Popular Ethical Jungle Treks

All our treks and tours are led by HPI (Indonesian Guiding Association) registered professionals who operate in full alignment with Gunung Leuser National Park regulations—delivering a refined, low-impact way to experience the rainforest.

All our trekking prices include both (HPI & TNGL) jungle permits, all food and water, guide and assistant, camp use (tent, blanket, mosquito net, foam pillow and mattress) and rafting home!

At Sumatran Ethical Expeiditons, we champion ethical tourism by adhering to national park regulations and supporting local communities. Our focus is on environmental protection and cultural preservation while educating guests on conservation. Explore our ethical trekking approach and how you can help on our "Ethical Jungle Trekking" page and discover more information about the Gunung Leuser National Park and it's regulations here. Experience responsible travel that transforms you and the planet.
